Seeing the camp was set up and beer was being handed out Ghelthic rose from his Throne to get a tankard. Never mind they were ready, tomorrow they would march in and reclaim hid Gold and woe betide anyone getting in his way. The dwarven force had double timed and made it to the pass as night closed in, in the distance he could hear echoing down the mountain range loud cries and howls from a Greenskin force. Without the time to muster a mighty army he marched out the next dawn with what forces were readily available, his Copter scouts had apparently seen signs of the wrecked waggon scattered across the pass but had also noticed signs of Greenskins in the vicinity, probably the same force who had initiated the ambush. Now due to the incompetence of the humans if he wanted his Gold he would have to go and get it himself. The few humans who had escaped and made it to his hold had reported that the cart with the money had been knocked off the sheer side of the mountain and tumbled down into the pass beneath. The weak humans had been ill prepared for the trip it seems and had run into trouble, not only had they wandered off the best path, but they had been ambushed by a Greenskin force as they were crossing a high ridgeline.
The humans from the plains had taken good dwarven steel before the winter with the written promise to trade goods and more importantly the Gold for this years trade. King Ghelthic, Lord of Brighthelmstone Hold, sat on his War Throne as his force set up camp around him, but he barely noticed as he was ruminating on his current task at hand.
